Namik Mackic — Program Manager of the Urban Pasts and Futures Lab

Namik Mackic is a scholar of intersections between landscape and urbanization; a design educator, cultural producer, and artist whose work investigates how a wide range of mechanisms that produce the living environment – from patterns of matter expression originating in earth systems to urbanization considered as technoterritorialization – enmesh and condition the developmental horizons of human cultures and societies. Mackic is a graduate of Harvard University Graduate School of Design, currently Assistant Professor at The Oslo School of Architecture and Design, previously visiting instructor at MIT School of Architecture + Planning, guest critic at Rhode Island School of Design, and Research Associate with the Harvard Mellon Urban Initiative. His transdisciplinary career includes also cultural and education policy development, and environmental communications.
